Rock Box - First day back

First practice of the new year done.

I think it's always intimidating for both of us when we start on new material because we build up ideas on our own then come together with the hope of putting them forward and there's the trepidation that maybe the other will think it's cack. This however was once again shown to be no issue.

2 and a half hours later and three cracking new tunes. All is good.

A big congratulations has to go out to the guys who have put together Rockbox Wirksworth (link over there --------------->) It's a new rehearsal space in Wirksworth with everything we need. Drum kit, amps, PA, mics, kettle, tea bags, white board, warmth and most importantly a good sounding room in which we could hear each other when both thrashing it out or playing with some subtlety. 10 quid for three hours. If you live in Wirksworth or close enough, look no further!!! 10/10. This room really made it easy for us tonight.

We've decided this year there's no looking back. The old tunes are just that and you wont be hearing us play them any time soon. We loved them but our sound is growing each time we get together so this year we're building up the double vocals and branching and getting more adventurous with pushing our boundary's. We'll be focusing on both our acoustic and electric sound and putting a full scale album together.

So excited, this is set to be a great year.

WE'RE BACK.......

We're heading back into the rehearsal rooms this week for the first time since Jim welcomed his fine daughter to the world. We've had a good rest but it's time to smash those rock cobwebs into tiny little spider silk pieces.

We've been writing riffs a plenty and I'm pretty certain we're going to be putting out our best material to date.

We'll be kicking off our gigging this year with a double header with our good friends and fellow blues-rock makers The Black Hands. Thursday March 29th At Radar Love - The Venue - Derby. Tickets available from both me and Jim for £3 full price or £2 NUS, but we'll be cutting a few deals for anyone driving so give us a shout on our mobiles or email us at thekingbains@gmail.com for further details.
